Outreach to Others for Christmas
**Photos show some of the gifts that have been returned for the Christmas Baskets this year. Also, you'll see some up close images of the gingerbread manger display that was donated to SJA church by some of our parishioners. The generosity of our parishioners is inspiring!!
For the past few years, during the Christmas season, St. Joan of Arc partners with our local Catholic Charities in Harford County to assist families in need. Catholic Charities supports families that are in early Headstart Program and have children who are infants up to three years of age. Many of these families are single women who along with their children have unfortunately experienced abuse. During the Christmas season we also provide assistance to any parishioners in our family community in need. If you know of a family in need please submit their name to our parish office staff by November 15th.
Our "Giving Tree" will be decorated in the narthex with gift tags on the weekend of November 24/25. The giving tags identify if the gift is for a boy/girl and provides a brief description of the requested gift. Please take the giving tag and return with a wrapped gift and the tag secured under the Giving Tree. Donated gifts are requested no later than December 9th. Gifts or food baskets for parishioners can be picked up at the Meeting House on December 15th from 9 AM to- 2 PM.
Instead of taking a gift tab, monetary donations are always welcome. Money enables our team to purchase exactly what is needed by a family. Please place the contribution in the collection basket at Mass. Finally, "gently used' clothing, especially for children can be donated.
If you have any questions please contact Mary Ellen Dunne our 2018 Christmas Giving Tree Chairperson.
