STAND Requirements for All VolunteersVolunteers are an essential part of the school community. The administration and faculty encourages parents to become involved in the education of their children.
In his recent letter, Archbishop Edwin O’Brien speaks to parents regarding the Archdiocese’s ongoing Child Protection Policy. In his letter, the Archbishop explains in detail some of the key components of this policy which exists to ensure the safety of all of the children attending Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
STAND is required for all volunteers. All parents who work with students directly, attend field trips and assist with lunch duty, etc. must attend a STAND training and complete the STAND certification process prior to involvement. Approval is indicated through the reception of an Archdiocesan Policy Compliance card issued by the St. Joan of Arc Administration.
Due to safety and instructional time, volunteers are asked not to bring siblings with them when they are volunteering in the classrooms. No siblings are allowed on field trips. For other events such as hot lunch, field day, bowl-a-thon, siblings must be in an area supervised by an adult.
