Continuing Students

Re-registration for current students is held November 1 - January 15.  Parents must complete a re-registration form and submit a $100.00 per student registration fee by January 5. Re-registration after January 5 is $150 per student.

New Students

Applications for the following school year are available upon request beginning September 1. Applications are kept on file for one year only. If no openings are available, parents must reapply the following September. Registration takes place during Catholic Schools Week, which is usually held the last week in January or the first week in February.

Priority Guidelines:

  • 1st preference is given to siblings
  • 2nd preference is given to St. Joan of Arc parishioners who have been members for at least 12 months,
  • 3rd preference is given to registered Catholics belonging to neighboring parishes,
  • 4th preference is given to non-Catholics.

To be considered for enrollment, prospective students must have on file a completed application and $100.00 non-refundable application fee.  Beginning the first week of February, available openings will be filled from these applications according to the above stated preferences. New students will be tested and an interview with the Principal/Assistant Principal will be scheduled.  If accepted, the $100.00 application fee will be applied to the $200.00 registration fee.

A fundamental objective of the school is to make available a Catholic education. An essential part of the educational microscopesbeard.jpgprogram is the development of excellent academic programs and an environment, which is conducive to both the student's academic growth and self-discipline. Inherent throughout the educational program is the advancement of positive attitudes toward all the races, sexes, and creeds. The Catholic education received at school can never substitute for those good and lasting values continually demonstrated by parental example.

The guidelines developed by St. Joan of Arc School that have been adopted and pertain to admission to the school are stated below.

St. Joan of Arc School has a principle obligation to parishioners who are practicing Catholics. Therefore, regarding admission, preference will be given to children of parents who are practicing Catholics. New parishioners are expected to submit a letter from their former pastor stating that they are practicing Catholics.

*Final decisions on admissions rest with the Administration. The term "parishioner" is defined as: Any family who is a registered and regularly contributing through the use of St. Joan of Arc Church envelopes

Age Requirements for Admission

Students must be five years old by September 1 for entrance into Kindergarten and six years old by September 1 for entrance into 1st grade for the current school year.

  1.  All prospective new students will be tested to identify strengths and areas which require additional support for success.
  2.  In order to request an age exception, parents must have their child tested through Harford County Public Schools. If Harford County Public Schools grant the exception, St. Joan of Arc will also honor this exception. It is the policy of the Archdiocese of Baltimore to follow the local public school system exception waivers.
