When we explore different themes in our classroom, there are items that would help us understand and explore that theme. We may add to this list as the year progresses. We thank you for any gifts you may offer us!
Our Kindergarten students would love: (As items are sent in, I will remove them from the list)
NEW ITEMS in bold iTunes gift cards so we can add apps to our class iPad. We have some free ones but there are some great, educational apps I'd love to add to it.
MATH / SCIENCE items small baby food jars with lids - need them for a project in November 2 large stand alone magnifiers crystals, etc. to study 1 or 2 sets of Gears, Gears, Gears (plastic sets usually sold where ever toys are sold) 2 magnet kits for kids 10 plastic tweezers 10 plastic eye droppers 24 clear plastic cups to plant in (needed in the springtime) 1 bag potting soil (needed in the springtime) watering can (plastic is best) cardboard egg cartons
WRITING items small pads of paper special writing utensils like sparkly markers or crayons, marker stampers, etc. a stapler
DRAMATIC PLAY items toy plastic pots and pans, tea kettle and cups toy plastic utensils play food (not fruit and vegetables- we have these already) a play blender, mixer, coffee maker, etc. a play cash register plastic spatula, whisk, etc. plastic tools (hammer, screwdriver, drill, etc. like Fisher Price set)
EXPLORATION TABLE items Sand and water table toys (water wheel, small buckets or butter containers, etc.)
CONSTRUCTION CENTER items Construction toys such as legos (not the tiny ones), tinker toys, bristle blocks, magnetic builders, etc.) a set of wood or plastic vehicles or things that go (all types: land, air, water, rail, space) from Lakeshore Learning online: Marbulous Marble Run or Magnetic Geo Builders Help Yourself Phonemic Awareness Trays ART items 12 small painting sponges (the little black sponges on sticks from Lowe's or Home Depot) Washable Tempera paint (any color of the rainbow, black, white, brown, etc.) scrap paper to make small notepads construction paper (12X18 size) all colors odds and ends such as packaging peanuts, paper towel or toilet paper tubes, straws, q-tips, etc. Pretty much anything a child could use to make, create or build something.
Much of this can be found in local stores, yard sales, and online vendors like Oriental Trading, Discount School Supply and Really Good Stuff. Thank you for your help!
